About us

The Toronto Consort’s Artistic Mission is as follows:

The Toronto Consort brings to life the wonderful music of the Middle Ages, Renaissance and early Baroque periods at the highest levels of performance and programming, and to the largest possible audiences.

Our staff, artists, board of director and volunteers work together to achieve the following goals:

  • to perform concerts in Toronto, across Canada, and internationally
  • to create and present educational programming for students of all ages
  • to undertake recordings of the highest professional level
  • to participate in presentations in other media (film, television, radio, internet, etc.)
  • to create and search out opportunities to expose new audiences to this music
  • to support the creation of new works which are compatible with the mission

The Toronto Consort launched its Education program in 1999, featuring free student concerts twice yearly for High School Students and their Teachers. Recently, we have introduced workshop programs in the schools. Please visit our Education Pages to find out more about our activities.

Ticket Access for those that might not otherwise be able to attend is key to mandate. Find out more about our tickets for Under 30s or tickets for Community groups here.
